Does Fidelity have multiple routing numbers? ›

An institution might also have different routing numbers to fulfill different functions. For example, Fidelity has different routing numbers used for its brokerage and mutual fund accounts.

Fidelity's ABA or routing number (101205681)

ABA routing numbers are used for paper or check transfers. ACH routing numbers are used for electronic transfers. Transactions using ACH routing numbers “clear” faster (same or next day) than funds transferred on paper checks using ABA numbers.

You can find your ACH routing number by: Searching online for “ACH routing number” and your bank's name. Logging in to your online banking platform. Looking in your checkbook (it's typically located next to your account number)

This is often the case with big banks such as Bank of America and Chase Bank, which have two routing numbers in some states. Banks also can have separate routing numbers for different types of transactions — one for processing paper checks and another for wire transfers, for example.

Similarly to ABA routing number, ACH routing number, is a nine digit code that a financial institution or a bank is using to clear electronic transfers (that are processed by the Automated Clearing House). All ACH routing numbers are ABA routing numbers, but not all ABA routing numbers are ACH routing numbers.

ACH routing numbers have nine digits, each of which serves a specific purpose. The first two digits indicate the Federal Reserve Bank district where the institution is located. The second pair of digits are the Federal Reserve Bank's district branch – or processing centre – assigned to the bank.
