This YouTuber known as Meowbahh, or alternately spelled as Meowbah, more casually referred to as Meow, is a renowned personality hailing from Australia, famous for their work on YouTube. Notably, they are recognized for their trolling tactics and concise video content.
The distinct characteristic that sets them apart is their high-pitched voice, complemented by their quirky habit of addressing themselves in the third person. Their controversial language, replete with slurs, a mixture of poorly articulated Japanese and English – often termed as “Japlish” – is another noteworthy aspect of their online persona. The echoes of their idiosyncratic style can be traced in the content of other popular ‘PNGtubers’ like JellyBean, leading many to conclude that Meow’s account is satirical, is intended for trolling, or serves as ‘clickbait’.
History of Meowbahh
Meowbahh officially launched their YouTube Channel on March 29, 2022. Without wasting any time, they started posting their first video the following day; that was on March 30, so quick right? Although this their first video, which was about a talent show, was initially posted on their TikTok account.
They have subsequently grown their channel, by sharing a series of YouTube Shorts, which is primarily focused on the popular game called Minecraft. They have a unique style of communication which is called ‘Japlish’. It is a blend of English and Japanese frequently characterized as broken. This style of communication further enhanced their notoriety.
Despite their YouTube growth, it’s their TikTok that gave them that popularity and followers. Although they actually post more videos on their TikTok than they post on their YouTube, which is why their followers grew more on TikTok than their followers on YouTube.
Controversies of Meowbahh
Usage of offensive language
Meowbahh uploaded a video on TikTok March 14, 2022, then they replied to a comment under that particular video, which reads “r*tard” (Which is deemed to be offensive to disabled people). This raised many criticisms against them by their followers. Later on, they made a response video, apologizing to their “disabled fans.” Although people didn’t actually appreciate the video because they were eating while recording the video, which clearly shows they weren’t serious with the apology.
Discord server
On 18 March, 2022, the popular social media influencer Meowbahh set up a Discord server to celebrate their milestone of hitting 10,000 followers on TikTok. Unfortunately, several ill clips started circulating on TikTok, allegedly showing Meowbahh making hurtful comments and using different slurs.
Unfortunately, the server was then flooded with people trying to sow discord, spamming slurs and sharing inappropriate images, some of which involved minors. This regrettable activity resulted in Meowbahh dropping a response on TikTok and then creating a new server.
More troubles arose in the Discord environment, all claiming that Meowbahh has expressed harmful intentions towards others.
Accusations of Racism
Meowbahh is said to be proficient in Japanese, yet their interpretation of Japanese terms in their videos strays noticeably from the actual pronunciation. This has drawn widespread criticism, with numerous individuals calling them a “cringey weeaboo.” They have even been accused of racism due to perceived disrespect of the Japanese language and idealization of its culture. It’s said that Meowbahh’s questionable grasp of Japanese may be attributed to the use of Google Translate, given the tool’s often flawed pronunciation and grammatical interpretations when translating to another language. Interestingly, Meowbahh has declared that they themselves don’t identify with any specific race.

Amid the controversy involving Meowbahh, which started from the Allah dispute, they subsequently posted a message on Discord inquiring about the substantial Indonesian presence on their server. They proceeded to derogatorily label it a “dog country,” sparking further backlash. Consequently, a significant number of Indonesian users demanded an apology from Meowbahh.

My best word for describing Meowbahh’s content style is “Whimsical.” Shocked right? Now this it, from the moment you hit the play button on their videos, all you see is creativity in their styles, so creative indeed, and this is why viewers are often glued to the video till the ending. Meowbahh content style is a combination of many factors, this includes their vivid imagination, their playful personality, and their detailing style too. Meowbahh is known for creating colorful and vibrant videos. Each video is colorfully designed to help their fans have a good graphical experience. Meowbahh is really a master of surprises. Most of their contents always leave their viewers unexpectedly intrigued. It comes with an unpredictable twist or a sudden burst of laughter. In short, they are known for keeping their fans engaged from the beginning of the videos to the ending. Viewers are sometimes invited to submit ideas or suggestions for further contents.
